Cassava exports surge to new record

In the first four months of 2025, Vietnam exported 513,100 tonnes of cassava, generating a turnover of USD 97.78 million. This represents an 86.6% increase in volume and a 38.7% rise in value compared to the same period in 2024.

According to data from the Department of Vietnam Customs (Ministry of Finance) in April 2025 alone, Vietnam exported 391,420 tonnes of cassava and cassava-based products, earning USD 112.88 million. This marked a decline of 19.7% in volume and 18.9% in value from March 2025.

However, compared to April 2024, export volume more than doubled, rising 113.5%, while export value surged by 40%. Cumulatively, in the first four months of 2025, cassava and cassava-based product exports reached 1.6 million tonnes, valued at USD 485.76 million, up 42.3% in volume but down 4.8% in value year-on-year, primarily due to a sharp drop in export prices.
